We often get feedback about not having Wi-Fi as part of our services. It may be hard to believe why a resort does not have Internet in this age of technology, and it can be disappointing. Sometimes guests choose to shorten their stay at the resort or not book a room at all because Wi-Fi is not available. Other times they complain, because they expected they can go online in the comforts of the room they booked.
FROM A DEAD SPOT TO A PEACEFUL PLACE
We think it is bad as much as it is good that Agta Beach Resort is located in what the telecommunication companies consider a dead spot. The resort is actually in a cove and it is surrounded by mountains. The cell sites are situated farther up the mountains where there is no clear line of sight to the resort, so it is hard to get a signal. These same mountains are home to different kinds of birds and a variety of trees and plants. It is also the resort’s source of clean and potable spring water. In fact, these mountains also protected the resort area from major damage during the Typhoon Yolanda.
DISCONNECT TO RECONNECT
Nonetheless, we observe that in the passing years, the Internet reception is improving. We expect that in no time Agta Beach Resort will also get a strong and stable Internet connection. In the meantime, we are gifted with the opportunity to offer our guests a place to disconnect and have a break from the busy world. We want our guests to have a good time at the resort through experiencing being close to nature and spending quality time with their companions.
OTHER WAYS TO GET INTERNET CONNECTION
Don’t worry! We are not a completely secluded place. If you are planning to stay at Agta Beach Resort, and just need to connect to the Internet a couple of times, perhaps to update your family or upload a post on social media, you can easily get a 4G reception in the other parts of the province such as the Almeria town proper, in Naval, and even on Dalutan Island!
While we are still waiting for the Internet service to be available in Agta Beach Resort, we continue to encourage more guests to come visit, do an Internet detox, and experience Biliran first hand.
