It started in the 1980s as simply the home of Mesyong and Pesing Sabitsana, right on Agta Beach. Visitors kept asking for meals after a swim, then a place to stay overnight, so the couple built the first guest rooms and made it official.
Fast forward to the 2010s, their grandson Melo, a professional scuba instructor, returned to introduce diving to the resort. His father Dr. Edgar Sabitsana soon moved back to Biliran, and together they modernized the grounds while keeping the same family warmth that started it all.

"I really enjoyed my stay at Agta Beach Resort. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and have everything you need, including air conditioning and a hot shower. The resort is located right by the sea and also has a nice swimming pool. The staff are friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with anything you need. It is also easy to arrange tours and island trips from the resort. There is a restaurant on site, so you can enjoy good meals without leaving the resort. I especially recommend visiting the nearby islands, they are beautiful and definitely worth the trip. I highly recommend Agta Beach Resort to anyone visiting Biliran. You won't regret staying here!"

"Food is great. Their restaurant is in a cute spot right on the water. Very safe, the whole resort is inside of a gate with a guard. Swimming with the locals on the beach is great fun. The staff is very nice and accommodating, with very good English skills. They are also raising their own food in the back and farm that you can walk through, and if they're available they'll give you a tour! Very inspiring work! Also, the pool area is well-maintained and clean!"

"It's difficult to find a really good place to stay in Biliran, but Agta is the best one I've found so far. Everyone was very helpful and friendly, including the owner. The food on-site was great, and the ocean view was beautiful. There's a sandy beach, a pool, and they can organize snorkeling and diving directly from the resort. It's also conveniently close to Naval and other attractions."
